Matthew Davisson is a painter and ceramic sculptor from Southeast Kentucky. Following a collegiate journey that began nine years ago, he is in the final semester of earning a BFA at Eastern Kentucky University. His work often comments on religion as observed growing up in the Bible Belt, pointing out hypocrisies in church leadership. However, Matt doesn’t just stand on an anti-religious soapbox—he also likes making spooky shit. Monsters and myths are an endless fascination.
Matthew’s main artistic inspirations are Francisco Goya, Mark Rothko, and those Quiznos commercials from the early 2000s with the singing critters. He often draws imagery and themes from musical inspiration—some of his favorite bands include The Mountain Goats, Silver Jews, and Burzum.
Matt is NOT a Nazi.
